LOTE teachers are expected to actively engage students in the learning process using a variety of strategies to cater for learning styles and mixed abilities.
                         What better way than through games!

Session 1:
The wonderful world of flash cards and how to use them when considering scaffolding activities to increase self-esteem encouraging students to participate at any level.

Session 2:
Having fun with well known games such as “Hangman” with a twist while developing activities to cater for mixed abilities and learning styles.

Session 3:
Using on-line games to engage and entertain students who may otherwise be disengaged and reluctant learners.


About the Presenter

Elizabeth Karakehagias has a history of over 40 years of teaching in primary, secondary and language schools. In recent years Elizabeth has been a popular presenter at the Ethnic Schools Professional Development sessions presenting a wide range of workshops covering effective teaching strategies, resource development, behaviour management, group work within the classroom to name a few. She is passionate about quality delivery to maximise student potential using her background in Special Education and her experiences in primary and secondary schools.
