Event Information 6 + 6 pd hrsYoung LOTE students cannot be asked to sit at a desk with a book, pencil and paper. Students must be actively engaged in a meaningful way. In this practical and interactive workshop, LOTE teachers will learn how to implement proven strategies to motivate and engage LOTE learners at primary and junior secondary level. This workshop will demonstrate how LOTE teachers can readily and effectively use a variety of learning activities and tasks in a fun and interactive way enabling children to learn another language in an exciting and stimulating manner! About the PresenterElizabeth Karakehagias has a history of over 40 years of teaching in primary, secondary and language schools. In recent years Elizabeth has been a popular presenter at the Ethnic Schools Professional Development sessions presenting a wide range of workshops covering effective teaching strategies, resource development, behaviour management, group work within the classroom to name a few. She is passionate about quality delivery to maximise student potential using her background in Special Education and her experiences in primary and secondary schools. |
