This program explores an array of classroom strategies for improving the performance of your students as well, methods for negotiating the  challenging nature of teaching this subject at both Year 11 and 12 level.

Participants will:
*  Explore strategies for improving students exam performance
*  Discuss engaging ways to approach each of the assessment tasks
*  Model fun lesson plans for teaching a rigorous revision program
*  Discover ways to reduce teacher workload in a subject with a large amount of correction
*  Be provided with A+  model answers, work sheets  and  the rules to games designed specifically for the VCE Literature classroom including “Views and Values Auctions” and “Quotation Olympiads”
*  Evaluate the easiest and most effective strategies for teaching context style essay responses
*   Explore new ways to critique difficult poems and passages


About the Presenter

Glen Pearsall  is a leading secondary school teacher and a board member of the Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority. He has presented a wide array of professional development seminars and workshops for Critical Agendas. He recently co-authored Literature for Life, a text for young people dealing with grief. Glen works part time as a seminar leader and research fellow at the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne.
