Teachers endeavour to ensure that every child's learning needs are met. As well as providing teachers with an understanding of Aspergers Syndrome, this program will provide teachers with practical ways to support these students’ learning at school.
Dr Richard Eisenmajer will cover the following:
* Brief introduction to Asperger's Syndrome.
* The common difficulties that children with Asperger’s face at    school and at home.
* Insights into what it would be like to have Asperger’s
* Understanding of Behaviour.
* Behavioural strategies to help with challenging behaviour
* Tips on making the school environment more "Asperger friendly"
* Question and Answer session in a workshop format


About the Presenter

Dr. Richard Eisenmajer is a Clinical Psychologist who has specialised in the diagnosis and management of people with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome for over 10 years. With a particular interest in promoting the understanding of what it is like to have Asperger’s Syndrome, Richard continually shares insights into the inner worlds of these individuals, as well as provides practical strategies that teachers and parents can use to improve outcomes of those with Asperger's. His experience includes working in the Victorian public Mental Health Service, as well as on Autism Assessment Teams. Richard completed his PhD and published research into the Theory of Mind abilities of people with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome, and the diagnostic differentiation of subgroups across the Autistic Spectrum.
