Event Information 6 pd hrsOnce upon a time ..... sounds like the introduction to an age when being literate was relatively easy to define. With society's increased reliance on ICT even the term literacy is undergoing a myriad re-interpretations. The Australian National Curriculum suggests, “........with the advent of multimodal and digital communications, literacy can now be considered to include the creation and interpretation of all the modes of communication that modern texts employ (Walsh 2011).” Of course it also goes without saying that where we can engage in traditional practices in new and more effective ways we should look closely at the options. |
