Event Information 6 + 6 PD hrsThursday March 1st, 2012 Educating and Managing Boys This workshop will deal with teaching, motivating, and managing boys in schools and examines the issues affecting boys' educational outcomes. Ian will outline the challenges facing educators and parents over the last twenty years in educating and raising boys.
Boys with Particular Needs This workshop will explore teaching, motivating and managing boys with particular needs in schools, at home and in specialist centres. There will be an emphasis on Autism and ADHD but other needs including CAPD, ODD, grief and family dysfunction will be covered. |

About the PresenterDr Ian Lillico (father of three sons) is a former principal of a secondary school (recently retired) and international consultant in gender, boys’ education and middle schooling. He has done action research in gender throughout Australia and New Zealand from 1992 and in the Northern Hemisphere during his Churchill Fellowship in 2000. Ian has a PhD (Education), is a National Fellow of The Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL) and was the ACEL 2006 National Travelling Scholar. He now provides professional development for teachers, parents, students and a host of other organizations throughout Australia and internationally. |
