The aim of this workshop is that participants return to school with
practical as well as theoretical understanding of teaching students
with Asperger's syndrome, and with a plan that can be used with
their students. This workshop will use a problem-based learning
format. Margaret will present her own cases for discussion, but
would also like participants to be prepared to talk about (deidentified)
students they work with, to help develop real-world
formulations and intervention plans.

Proposed program:
  • What is Asperger's Syndrome?
  • Diagnostic and assessment procedures
  • What identification processes can mean for school staff.
  • Common difficulties associated with Asperger's Syndrome and how it looks at different ages
  • Mental Health risks for children and young people with Asperger's.

  • in schools to address these risks.

  • Asperger's Syndrome to access curriculum
