Tablets have the potential to reinvigorate learning in our workplaces, schools and homes. In this workshop you will learn about implementing mobile learning programs for 21st century learners. You'll hear current research about their impact on learning and share strategies about developing a vision for your workplace. You'll learn about creating a planned strategy for implementing a new initiative, managing professional learning and technical issues, and conducting an evaluation. This is a practical workshop where you will be working in teams, sharing ideas and strategies as you develop a future direction for your school.
In this workshop you will:
- Become familiar with mobile learning research
- Learn how to create a vision for your school
- Learn how to develop an implementation strategy for your school
- Learn about evaluation processes including action research.
- Share and brainstorm effective implementation strategies.
Tablets are not necessary, but if you have one, please bring it along. |
About the Presenter
Cecilie Murray is Director of Delphian eLearning, specialising in learning innovation, and App-titude Learning, a developer of educational apps. She is an Australian leader in the use of ICT, well known for her work in eLearning using emerging technologies, mobile learning research, strategic planning, online teaching and digital content development. She has previous experience as Group Manager of eLearning for Departments of Education in Victoria and Tasmania and at The Le@rning Federation. She has worked internationally on projects with Singapore, Indonesia, UK, USA and Japan. She is a contributor to a new book, Mobile Technologies and Handheld Devices for Ubiquitous Learning: Research and Pedagogy (ed Wan Ng).
John Sloan is Director of Delphian eLearning and co-owner of App-titude Learning. He specialises in curriculum for personalised and digital learning, the pedagogy of managing people in teams and the impact of learning innovation on engagement. John is an accomplished curriculum writer and an experienced educator who has worked in innovative schooling models that emphasise student learning, team teaching and Team Small Group. He has implemented innovative curriculum approaches based on student led inquiry and student projects. John trained as an applied chemist and has been a secondary college teacher specialising in Middle School engagement, Science, Maths, Physics, ICT and leadership for young people.
