Knowledge about the mechanisms behind reading difficulties is increasing with new technologies but in our classrooms there remains those 11% of students who present every year with lack of progress in reading and writing development. Standard interventions often don't assist all of these children. The key to assisting students with DYSLEXIA is to know what the barriers are for these particular children and what their learning strengths are to assist them. This workshop will focus on increasing your knowledge of the range of causes that exist for DYSLEXIA (which manifests itself in poor reading and writing development), identification and assessment of this condition, as well as providing practical advice on a range of approaches to assist these students.
