With the introduction of new legislation in the area of occupational health and safety, there is increasing necessity to evaluate tasks being undertaken and have demonstrable risk management systems providing evidence of this evaluation to ensure the safety of all involved. The school and in some cases individuals within the school, owe a duty of care to the students and others involved in some activities. This workshop will familiarise participants with their legislative requirements and provide practical applications of risk management as it applies to school activities. There will be opportunity to evaluate a task and discuss ways of minimising the potential risks involved.
