Classroom misbehaviour can be frustrating. Time spent managing wrongdoing often takes away from time that should be spent supporting students with their learning.
As classroom teachers it can be hard to build a positive learning environment where students take responsibility for their learning and respect their teachers and peers.
This workshop will focus on proving educators with practical strategies for building a solid classroom foundation for learning and respectful relationships.
Participants will explore how to develop consistent expectations, values and routines with students.
Participants will also build an understanding of how to explicitly teach and positive reinforce behaviours that will allow for an improved learning climate. Developing this foundation also places teachers in a better position to respond to wrongdoing fairly and firmly.
This workshop will appeal to all classroom teachers, but particularly those implementing SWPBS and/or Restorative Approaches.

About the Presenter
Jane Langley is a well known educational consultant with a background in teaching and student wellbeing.
With just over 20 years experience she brings a wealth of practical strategies to her workshops. During her career as a teacher, drug educator and consultant Jane has supported schools in developing strategies for building effective learning environments and managing student behaviour.
Jane believes in the importance of explicitly teaching young people to be socially and emotionally competent so they can reach their full potential academically and socially. Jane’s work in these areas has been shared locally, nationally and internationally.
