This workshop will provide teachers with a range of strategies and practices to effectively embed Marzano's Nine Instructional Elements, which have the greatest positive affect on student achievement for all students, in all subject areas, at all Year levels.


These elements include:
•  Identifying similarities and differences
•  Summarizing and note taking
•  Reinforcing effort and providing recognition
•  Homework and practice
•  Nonlinguistic representations
•  Cooperative learning
•  Setting objectives and providing feedback
•  Generating and testing hypotheses
•  Cues, questions and advance organizers


Teachers will:
•  Explore the nine elements and identify ways to use them in classroom practice
•  Identify ways of embedding these elements in curriculum planning

About the Presenter

Pam Burton’s interest, experience and expertise in educating students at all levels is reflected in her broad teaching and consultancy career. She is a celebrated presenter and author who works extensively with students, teachers and organisations in the areas of leadership, brain compatible learning, boys’ education, literacy, gifted education, creative and critical thinking, learning styles, multiple intelligences and cooperative learning. She has been a lecturer in Gifted Education at Deakin University, a presenter in the Bright Sparks and Women in Leadership programs and numerous other programs at Deakin University.
