Boosting student motivation in the languages classroom

Language teachers often find that motivating their students is a key challenge, especially in the compulsory language learning years. This workshop offers a wide range of research-based activities designed to enhance student engagement and involvement in their learning. Ian draws on his extensive teaching experience in co-ed and single-sex classes in both private and public secondary schools to share strategies that can easily be integrated into lessons in all macro-skill areas. Ian’s hands-on approach will also explore the selective use of technology to boost students’ interest and skill levels. Participants will leave with an overflowing tool-kit of practical ideas and skills to implement in their own classrooms.

Teachers of all languages are encouraged to attend. While examples will come mainly from French and EAL, these can easily be adapted to other languages.

Just a big Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend the Critical Agenda Workshop yesterday.  David presented a great program, lots of handy strategies and he was very engaging and supportive. Highly recommended.  I was very happy we did not have to do any Role play’s.
