French VCE skills

This practical and engaging workshop will explore effective approaches to teaching VCE French through the lens of the French Study Design. Participants will unpack key outcomes, assessment requirements and expectations across Units 1–4, while examining strategies to strengthen student confidence, autonomy and performance.

The session will provide concrete classroom ideas to support the development of listening, reading, writing, speaking  and viewing skills, with a particular focus on preparing students for the oral and written examinations. Attendees will leave with practical tips for scaffolding SACs, developing high-level responses, building spontaneous speaking skills, improving cultural analysis, and maximising student success in VCE French.

Grounded in contemporary pedagogy, metacognition and classroom experience, this workshop is designed for both early-career and experienced teachers seeking fresh ideas, collaborative discussion and immediately applicable resources

“Build Positive Relationships and a Positive Work Environment Within Your Administration Team/Office by Sally Learey”

This session was one of the most empowering workshops that I have ever done and I leave the session with extremely useful and relevant tools to use going forward. Thanks so much to Sally for leading us in the session so positively.

“Why Is This Young Person So Hard to Teach? Understanding the Diagnoses PDA, IED, ODD, CD and ASPD’ – Aphra Millis”

Aphra was great, so honest, down to earth and personable. I really loved the fact that she could talk to the topic both on a personal and professional level. She certainly raised awareness of a number of conditions and diagnoses that we are starting to see more of. Highly recommend her.

Just a big Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend the Critical Agenda Workshop yesterday.  David presented a great program, lots of handy strategies and he was very engaging and supportive. Highly recommended.  I was very happy we did not have to do any Role play’s.

“Strategies to Thrive as a Year Level Co-ordinator by Sally Learey”

Sally was insightful and helped me to make clear connections to every day behaviours / emotions that I will need to recognise in my position. It really reiterated why I applied for this position in the first place as I think that often the purpose or the why is forgotten in an attempt to do everything for everyone.

Classroom Dynamics – the latest strategies and solutions to positive classroom management – Glen Pearsall

I really enjoyed the small group size. The sessions were interactive and we not only saw Glenn demonstrate how he would use strategies himself but we heard from other educators on their challenges and thoughts and also saw video examples from other schools. I find this multi modal style of presentation much more engaging. It was also appreciated to have a copy of the book to take back to school and access to the online platform.
