Teaching outside the Box (Technology for “Zoom-fatigued” teachers)

“Change has never happened this fast before,

and it will never be this slow again”.

– Stefan Hyttfors

This year has been a doozie for teachers! We have all jumped head first into remote learning, some sinking, some learning to swim, most just managing to keep their head above water! Many teachers who never thought technology was for them, have suddenly found themselves teaching online!

After an initial rush of trepidation, novelty and fear, the dust has settled and many teachers (and their students) are bored with remote learning.  How can you make remote learning more fun, more engaging, more interactive and more effective? What tools can you use to make your life now, as an online teacher, easier, and still be able to use when classes eventually resume.

This workshop is designed to equip teachers who want to use technology with their students in more interesting, exciting ways.  Whether in the classroom or online, the teaching strategies presented in this workshop will help you to be more innovative and less exhausted!

Registrations for this event will close on the 16th September at 1.00pm

Andrew Douch

Andrew Douch is an independent education consultant and a teacher with 22 years classroom experience. His use of educational technology, including those used to flip his classes , has won him numerous awards, including an Australian Government Award for Quality Schooling, the Victorian Education Excellence Award for Curriculum Innovation, the Microsoft
Worldwide Innovative Teacher of the Year and an IMS Global Learning Impact Leadership Award. His mantra is “You don’t need to be very good with technology to do very good things with technology”. Rather teachers need a willingness to question their 20th Century paradigms and rethink their roles as educators in a world where information is available on-demand and communication is instantaneous.
