Tech for Teachers – March

In 2020 lots of teachers started teaching with technology in ways they never imagined they would! Some apps and approaches worked better than others.  We all learned a lot! Now that we are back in the classroom, many of us are re-evaluating our use of classroom technology, in the light of what we learned in 2020.

This workshop is designed to equip teachers who want to use technology with their students in more interesting, exciting ways.  The teaching strategies, apps and websites presented in this workshop will help you to be more innovative and less exhausted! And if (God forbid!) we end up back in lockdown before a vaccine is developed – they will make your online classes more effective and engaging, too.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a show-bag of great, easy-to-use, practical apps that you can unleash on your students the next lesson!

Andrew Douch is an independent education consultant and a teacher with 22 years classroom experience. His use of educational technology, including those used to flip his classes , has won him numerous awards, including an Australian Government Award for Quality Schooling, the Victorian Education Excellence Award for Curriculum Innovation, the Microsoft
Worldwide Innovative Teacher of the Year and an IMS Global Learning Impact Leadership Award.His mantra is “You don’t need to be very good with technology to do very good things with technology”. Rather teachers need a willingness to question their 20th Century paradigms and rethink their roles as educators in a world where information is available on-demand and communication is instantaneous.
