Tech tools for Listening and Speaking skill development in Languages
With the proliferation of educational technology available today, coupled with the rapid rate of change in the edtech landscape, it is easy for teachers to feel that they have “missed the boat” when it comes to using technology in their classrooms. The focus of this workshop will be on discovering easy to use tools which develop students’ Listening and Speaking skills in languages, and which allow students to use their language in a meaningful way both inside and outside the classroom. During the workshop, participants will use the tools presented to create teaching activities which facilitate richer and more engaging learning opportunities, and which were not previously possible without the use of technology.
This is a hands-on workshop, ideally suited to teachers who want to make better use of technology to save time and increase student engagement, and time will be devoted to developing new teaching materials. Although the examples given in this workshop will come from French or English, the ideas presented are general in nature and can be applied in most Language classrooms, so teachers of all languages are encouraged to attend.
