Cassandra Mahony

Cassandra has a passion for evidence-based, data-driven, student-centred learning. She has experience teaching in both the private and public sectors and is currently a Learning Specialist for Curriculum at Auburn High School. She has taught VCE English, VCE EAL, VCE English Language and VCE Literature and is a member of the ACARA English Teacher Reference Group which reviews the Australian Curriculum.

In addition to her Master of Teaching,  Cassandra has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Linguistics and Italian and a Graduate Diploma in French. She has a strong understanding of how language works and has drawn on this expertise to develop workshops that support teachers to explicitly teach subject-specific literacy and to encourage EAL students to thrive in mainstream classrooms.
