There is a lot of misunderstanding around mental health and teachers are often expected to assist students in this area of their life without the required level of training and equipping.

This workshop will help the teacher understand the difference between mental health and mental illness and will also provide practical and useful strategies that they can use to help improve student wellbeing in their role as a teacher.

About the Presenter

Miranda Marriott is an engaging speaker and facilitator, with over 12 years of experience in the Health and Wellbeing industry. Her education in psychology, counselling and coaching has renewed her life and she wants to contribute by empowering others with the same insights. Miranda has personally seen the transformation that can come when key learning’s from the latest wellbeing research are delivered in a powerful and engaging way.

She understands schools, teachers and students and how to best support and communicate with them as she has worked as the head of wellbeing, a year level coordinator and Psychology teacher. She has also worked in the corporate sector in organisational development and in the health industry as a counsellor and personal trainer.

Miranda has completed post- graduate studies in Education, Life Coaching and Commerce (Human Resources),along with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Counselling). She is a skilled communicator as she spoken to Whole Schools, Year Levels, Teachers, TAFEs and Corporates and has studied public speaking.

Her vast level of experience and education has equipped her to be an immensely valuable resource for Schools. Miranda is passionate about wellbeing for both staff and students because she has seen the profound impact that these insights and strategies have had.
