How school leaders can pave the way for AI integration in their schools
Considering the debate around how artificial intelligence should be used by students and teachers, it is vital that school leaders play an engaged role in overseeing how artificial intelligence solutions are used in their school settings. This professional development course is designed to empower school leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively lead AI implementation projects and make informed decisions about AI adoption.
Throughout the course, school leaders will explore the capabilities of AI, considering its strengths and limitations. They will learn to assess how these characteristics align with the specific needs of their school setting, enabling them to make strategic decisions about AI integration.
School leaders will also develop strategies for ensuring that all members of the school community, including teachers, students, and parents, have the knowledge required to engage with AI solutions responsibly and productively.
We will discuss how AI education needs to be differentiated, as there is a wide range of familiarity with AI among teachers. Some teachers feel confident using state-of-the-art models and tools, while other teachers have never even used ChatGPT. This course will provide guidance to school leaders on how they can tailor AI education in their school settings to meet their teachers’ diverse levels of AI experience and comfort.
By the end of the course, each participant will have a comprehensive package of resources to facilitate professional development sessions within their own schools, communicate with stakeholders, and make informed decisions about how and when AI should be integrated into educational settings.
