Critical Agendas Speaker
Presented by Critical Agendas

Lauren Munday

Lauren is the author of ‘Mastering Your Mind for Success’, a comprehensive student handbook designed to help individuals navigate challenges in school, performance, sport and life. With a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor’s in Health and Physical Education, Lauren brings a wealth of experience as both an educator and a leader. Over her 15+ years of teaching experience in Melbourne and experience gained teaching in Indigenous communities in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, she has developed a deep respect for culture, community, and the power of perseverance.

In her previous role as the Head of Sport and a Health and Physical Education (HPE) teacher at Star of the Sea College in Melbourne, Lauren honed her expertise in empowering individuals through goal-setting, mindset education, and goal-pursuit strategies. As the 2019 Vice-Captain of Carlton’s VFL team, she further developed a passion for mental empowerment and recognised the profound impact that mindset skills can have on goal achievement. This led to the creation of the THINK SET GO program, which consists of a series of workshops and resources aimed at inspiring both teachers and students to cultivate an adaptive mindset, boost confidence in their abilities, and master goal-setting and performance strategies to achieve their objectives.

Lauren is a sought-after speaker, having shared her insights at the Queensland and Victorian ACHPER conferences and the National Education Summit.

Unleashing Brilliant Brains: Boys, ADHD & the Power of Connection – Tony Vallance

This has been the best PD I have ever attended. As an ADHD’er myself (undiagnosed), the mother of an ADHD’er 21 yr old with some serious addictions and now teaching for the past few years in the VM space with ADHD students. I have over 25 years of policing and only recently a teacher and feel so privileged that I get to have an impact on these young people. So grateful Tony for the work you do.

“Strategies to Thrive as a Year Level Co-ordinator by Sally Learey”

Sally was insightful and helped me to make clear connections to every day behaviours / emotions that I will need to recognise in my position. It really reiterated why I applied for this position in the first place as I think that often the purpose or the why is forgotten in an attempt to do everything for everyone.

Paul Dillon

Emily Anderson – Saint Ignatius College

Classroom Dynamics – the latest strategies and solutions to positive classroom management – Glen Pearsall

I really enjoyed the small group size. The sessions were interactive and we not only saw Glenn demonstrate how he would use strategies himself but we heard from other educators on their challenges and thoughts and also saw video examples from other schools. I find this multi modal style of presentation much more engaging. It was also appreciated to have a copy of the book to take back to school and access to the online platform.

Just a big Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend the Critical Agenda Workshop yesterday.  David presented a great program, lots of handy strategies and he was very engaging and supportive. Highly recommended.  I was very happy we did not have to do any Role play’s.

“Build Positive Relationships and a Positive Work Environment Within Your Administration Team/Office by Sally Learey”

This session was one of the most empowering workshops that I have ever done and I leave the session with extremely useful and relevant tools to use going forward. Thanks so much to Sally for leading us in the session so positively.

“Why Is This Young Person So Hard to Teach? Understanding the Diagnoses PDA, IED, ODD, CD and ASPD’ – Aphra Millis”

Aphra was great, so honest, down to earth and personable. I really loved the fact that she could talk to the topic both on a personal and professional level. She certainly raised awareness of a number of conditions and diagnoses that we are starting to see more of. Highly recommend her.
